Paula Stevens

Why do you like working for Carestaff? It sounds like such a cliché but I really love that we help people with care when they most need it.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Bushwalking, sweating it out at the gym, taking my pooches on walks and to the beach and spending time with my family.

Favourite quote? “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” A close second is “Assumption is the mother of all stuff ups!”

Have you ever met anyone famous? Mick Fanning, Mark Occhilupo and Pat Farmer.

Who’s someone you really admire? No one person in particular but I really admire artists, musicians and scientists that follow their dreams and passion despite zero funds and living day to day with no security of income. That to me is super brave and admirable.

What’s your favourite spot on the Gold Coast? Binna Burra in the Lamington National Park

What’s your favourite family tradition? We don’t really have any family traditions but we love a loud, boozy, food overload get together.

What is your favourite destination visited? Serengeti National Park. It was the ultimate bucket list tick off.

Do you have a favourite charity you wish more people knew about? Currently I am supporting the Fred Hollows Foundation. I think most people know about that.

Who inspires you? People that do what they do with no fanfare or fuss. The list of Senior Australians of the Year present and past are examples of this. They are so humble and remind us that acting locally can make a big difference in the world.

How would you friends describe you? Hopefully….. genuine and fun.

What’s your idea of the perfect day? Warm sunny day, a delicious café coffee (and cake of course!), walk on the beach with my hubby and pooches, time in the park with my niece and nephew, dinner out so no dishes! Simple but perfect 😊.
