Hear from Carestaff Endorsed Enrolled Nurse Rachel, who gives us an insight into what it is like to work as an agency nurse in aged care facilities on the Gold Coast as well as a community nurse. What do you love most about the job/ working with Carestaff? What I love most about working for Carestaff is the flexibility and variety of work available. Every day is so different and I love being able to work with a diverse range of people in the community. What is your nursing specialty and what facilities/locations do you usually work at? I work as an EEN across a wide range of aged care facilities on the Gold Coast. I have also worked as a community nurse, assisting patients from their homes. Do you enjoy the flexibility of picking and choosing shifts that suit your family and/or lifestyle? The flexibility of picking my shifts is a highlight of working for Carestaff. I am able to maintain a great social life as well as receive plenty of work too. It’s a great work-life balance. Describe a rewarding experience you’ve had whilst working with Carestaff? A rewarding experience I’ve had with Carestaff is being able to care for a wide of range of elderly people in the community. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing stories about their lives. What advice would you give to other nurses looking for an agency role? If other nurses are thinking about applying for agency roles I would highly recommend it as you are well supported and the flexibility of the job allows it to suit your lifestyle.
